What it reads
One public Facebook group, the one where your town asks for recommendations. Scout reads each new post and decides whether it is somebody asking for the kind of work you do. Most posts are not, and those go past.
When one is, you hear about it within minutes: an email with the link, 6 a day at most, and a text for the strongest, 4 a day at most. You reply, as yourself.
Why it texts you instead of replying for you
Because the reply is the part that wins the work, and a reply from a machine is the kind people notice. First back usually wins, but first back in your own words, with a time and a price, is what turns a post into a job. Scout gets you to the post first. The rest is yours.
What happens to the post and the poster's name
Not much, deliberately. Scout keeps the link and a one line description of the work, so your portal can show you what it found. It does not store the text of the post or the name of the person who wrote it, and what it does keep expires after thirty days.
The person asking in the group did not sign up to anything. They asked their neighbours. That is why what reaches you is a link to their post, not a copy of it.
Why one group at a time, for now
Two reasons. The first is that one group is where the recommendations happen in most towns, and watching six of them mostly means six texts about the same post. The second is cost: each group is read once and shared across everyone watching it, which is what keeps Scout inside a Kitted subscription rather than a fee per lead.
What it will never do
Join a private group. Every route into one holds somebody's Facebook password, and we will not hold yours. Reply on your behalf. Take a cut of a job. Store the poster's name. Message the poster. Those are decisions, not limits, and they are written down so they stay made.
