Where cookies and similar storage are and are not used.
Your customer site
Once it is live, the website we build for you sets no cookies of its own. Your visitors get no consent banner from us, because nothing we run on it needs one.
One thing on it is not ours. Where your site shows a map of your premises, the map comes from Google, which may set its own cookies when the map loads.
While it is still a preview, opening it from the link we email you sets one cookie on that address only. It keeps your preview open as you move between pages, and lets us see which pages you looked at and for how long. Nobody else who finds the address is sent it. It lasts ninety days, and nothing is counted once your site is live. Notes you leave on a preview are also held in your browser's storage.
This site, the portal and the apps
None of these is used for advertising and none of them follows you to another website. All but Google Analytics are strictly necessary for something you asked for, so they need no consent.

Saying yes or no
Google Analytics runs on kitso.co.uk, which is our own marketing site. It sets no cookie until you press Accept on the banner, and if you press Reject it never sets one. Until you accept, Google's script still tells Google that a page was opened, with no cookie and nothing kept on your device. Advertising features are never switched on. To change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser and the banner will ask again.
It is never present on a customer site or in the portal.
How we count visits without cookies
Visits to your site, and to kitso.co.uk itself, are counted with a daily rotating one way hash rather than a cookie or a stored network address. The privacy policy explains it.
